Italian fashion giant Georgio Armani – is the biggest name in the fashion world for over 35 years. Mr. Armani has seen his brand, launched in 1975; grow from a menswear label into a luxury fashion empire which includes Giorgio Armani Privé and Emporio Armani apparels.
It is surprising to know that prior to design; Mr. Armani pursued a career in medicine. But he quit that and his foray into the world of fashion began as a winder dresser for La Rinascente, one of the prominent stores in Milan. Along with Sergio Galeotti, he formed Georgio Armani which began as a menswear collection. But the brand quickly grew in stature being known for its quality, tailor-made fits and was soon stocked in Barneys. The designer later expanded to include fragrances, home decor and even built Armani branded resorts and hotels worldwide.
The Georgio Armani brand is the most well-known luxury brand in the world with over 500 stand-alone showrooms globally. His deconstructed suit-jackets are to especially die for! The designer has won several commendations from the Italian Government in recognition for promoting Italian craftsmanship including the title of Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito Della Repubblica.
